Common questions
A little clarity before you reach out
- Is your support really free?
- Our service is completely free. We don't charge families or accept referral fees from treatment providers. We are noncommercial and receive no placement compensation.
- Is treatment or companion support also free?
- Our family support, navigation and coordination are free. We accept no provider referral fees or placement compensation. Independent providers may charge for their own care or services; confirm those costs and terms directly with them.
- Do I have to complete the questionnaire?
- No. Call Now or Text Us whenever you're ready. The questionnaire is optional; its answers stay in this visit's memory and aren't delivered with calls. At the final step, you can choose selected details for a text draft that you review and send yourself.
- Who will I talk to?
- Steven is the point of contact for calls and texts. Both brothers are in recovery; Steven brings more than a decade of professional recovery-support experience, including five consecutive years of live-in companion work. We don't promise immediate replies or 24/7 availability.
- Do you provide treatment or clinical advice?
- No. We listen, answer general questions and help families understand options and coordinate introductions to independent providers. We don't diagnose, provide therapy or deliver treatment, companion, transport or intervention services. Licensed professionals make clinical assessments and treatment recommendations; no placement or outcome is guaranteed.
- What should I do in an emergency?
- Call 911 for immediate danger or a medical emergency. For mental health or substance use crisis support in the US, call or text 988. The Sober Brothers is not an emergency service; don't wait for our reply in a crisis.
- Can I request a callback?
- Callback requests remain disabled. Nothing entered in that form is submitted. Please call or text directly instead.
